BibProfile — profile and clean your BibTeX bibliography

BibProfile is a free, browser-only tool that profiles a BibTeX (.bib) reference list against OpenAlex. You upload your .bib, it matches each reference against OpenAlex, shows the shape of your bibliography, and gives you back a cleaned copy — a final sanity-check before you submit a paper to a journal or conference. It's built for researchers, academics, and PhD students preparing manuscripts.

• Match & inspect — match each reference against OpenAlex, with an honest match rate and a sortable, filterable table.
• Report — recency, journal concentration, self-citation, open access, retractions, and duplicates — descriptive, never a score.
• Missing citations — foundational works your references point to but you didn't cite, and recent work that cites your set.
• Preprint → published — detect preprints (arXiv, bioRxiv, medRxiv, SSRN) and look up their published versions.
• Cleaned .bib — suggested fixes (missing DOIs, venues, volume/pages) as a reviewable diff and a downloadable file.

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is stored, there's no account, and there's no tracking. Bibliographic data comes from OpenAlex. Built by Florian David.
